The day had come for Gemma and I to say our final goodbyes to Champneys with our final spa visit of the year. However, we did make sure to leave on a high, as this venue was Eastwell Manor. The beautiful old manor house is situated in the county of Kent, also known as the Garden of England. We could definitely see why it was called this. Driving from Sussex into Kent, we wound around country roads and open fields, passing wildlife in all forms – including pheasants. (these seem to gravitate towards the road, so keep an eye out!)

As our Champneys visits were drawing to a close, we travelled up to Hertfordshire to visit Champneys Tring. We followed the signs to the driveway, and pulled into a parking bay. There was only a short walk until we saw the grand manor house, Tring! The original health spa is situated within 170 acres of parkland, on a former Rothschild family-owned estate. As we walked into the reception, there was a festive atmosphere with Christmas trees and lights. A welcoming receptionist checked us in and handed us our Champneys robes and flipflops, before escorting us to the treatment waiting room.

Willow and I have been fortunate enough to visit both Champneys Forest Mere and Champneys Springs in the past, and every time we have arrived at a Champneys spa, we have been struck by the beautiful country houses that stand before us. On a brisk Thursday morning, Willow and I set off to Champneys Henlow, and after a smooth journey up to Bedfordshire, we followed the ‘Champneys Spa’ signs to the entrance. There has been a recurring convenience of well-placed signs at every location we have been to so far, which helpfully direct guests to the spas. We followed the driveway through the forestry, and as we drove into the carpark, we could see a grand building through the orange-tinged trees.
