Despite the summer heat, our chocolate addiction continues. Therefore, we were delighted to be kindly invited to the ‘Chocoholic Afternoon Tea’ with Master Baker, Chocolatier and Cake Artist; David Leslie located in Leicester Square, London.

017The tea takes place from about a 5 min walk away from the underground and is a prime location right in the heart of London.  The workshop is conducted in a building that operates as a bar past 10pm so if you have a later sitting then why not continue the evening with the choice of 3 floors to carry on drinking, eating and even a bit of dancing! Located on the 7th floor and practically on the sky line of London, we were welcomed into a the room by a friendly smart waiter by the name of Gustav. Once sat down, guava cocktail flutes were served to us accompanied by fresh macaroons with a selection to choose from including; pistachio, vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and lemon. Whilst we waited for our Belgian chocolate truffle tutorial to begin we were able to absorb the beautiful sights from the penthouse which delightfully complimented the whole experience.

Our tutorial allowed us with a group to fill in crèmes of our choices in chocolate ganache cases to then be covered and refrigerated in order to cool and reach their solid form. Returning to our seats, we were soon presented with the highlight of the afternoon-the cakes! Huge slices of Belgian double chocolate and cream cake appeared on our plates and were simply delicious. Alongside my personal favourite and one I plan to order for my Birthday in a month (as they do bespoke cakes!) was an orange infused Genoese sponge with layers of raspberry Madagascan cream  covered in Belgian chocolate. The cakes were fresh and had a beautiful texture to them; made without any additives and only natural ingredients they are baked that day providing you the highest of quality. Our chocolate truffles then arrived to finally enjoy with our hot chocolate made with real melted chocolate. The name really is in the title, this experience is perfect for chocoholics. Portion sizes are generous and service is friendly and accommodating. Click here now to book onto an afternoon of sweet chocolate bliss.
