Josh was fantastic in bringing us through the food tour. Food we tried, from warm dessert, bagels to fish and chips and lemon meringue pie with tea were awesome! I enjoyed the bite size history he shared of the Spitalsmarket and the buildings around. Josh told us the story of early immigrants and the industries developed there . Josh took good care of the Group and we were amazed! Thanks Josh for bringing out the green pea sauce! We love it!

My family and I agree that this was our favorite activity in London. We had an excellent guide Kara who not only explained the food but really filled us in on the history of the area. We brought our children with us- a teen and a preteen - who tend to be a little picky but there was nothing on the tour that they wouldn’t eat. We started out w a bacon sandwich- which is a good choice for the first stop since we hadn’t eaten breakfast. I was worried we were going to eat curry at 10am but that wasn’t the case. All of the portions were generous and by the end I was definitely full. Highly recommend!!

Very good. All the food tastings were very nice, liked the fact that restaurants were locally owned and run rather than chains, and the diversity in the places and tastings. Lauren really friendly and informative host, thank you.

It was a fabulous tour! It was a robust volume of food and an incredibly diverse array of samplings. Loved the connection to the local history and evolution of the East End. Josh did a fantastic job educating our group, moving us forward, and creating a light-hearted and fun ambiance. I would highly recommend this tour and Josh to anyone visiting London. The only thing I'd do differently is, if you're starting the day at Donovan's bakery, get donuts! The stand is surrounded by beautiful and amazing-looking donuts. Although the sandwiches were lovely, I had already seen the donuts and was bummed to miss out on them.

Even though raining this was a fantastic tour. Nothing was too much trouble for Harry, our guide. Who was a fount of historical information and amusing quips. The food was amazing and we plan to return to sample some more. A word of warning....eat absolutely nothing before you go on this trip. Although the portions are smallish you will be trying out so much that there is no room for even a morsel for the rest of the day. Thanks Harry.

Nicole was our guide and right from the first moment we met her we all knew we were in for a fantastic afternoon. We did the East End Food Tour with Flick. SO MANY GOOD THINGS TO WRITE I CANNOT CONTAIN MYSELF. First of all, they are accommodating to vegetarians, which is fab. We chose to be Pescatarian because we like to eat fish sometimes. Everything was very clear and easy to understand with signing up and directions. I had a few questions before booking and called the number on the website and the woman was very helpful. On the day of the tour Flick was there to meet us. She was so bubbly and fun right from the start. I loved how much passion she had for the history of London and how she was also very exciting and lovely. She did an amazing job encouraging us to move to the next place without being busy, and also keeping us all together and talking about the history/street art along the way. Well done Flick, WELL DONE! And then there's the food. It was amazing and very diverse. I was impressed with the amount of places we went and how delicious everything was. We had an absolutely fabulous time even though it was very chilly outside. I would definitely recommend this tour (especially with Flick because she is SO MUCH FUN). I'd even go on it again if we had friends in town. YAY!

Last but not least, we took the East End food tour with Kafe on Friday morning. We started off at a modern little breakfast place with a bacon sandwich with a special ketsup! ( such fresh bread) Then some walking history about immigrants and locations. On to the elephants of Hope and the wonderful market where we tried Humble Crumble….so very good without too much sweetness. A stop to learn about coal chutes then on to Poppy’s. A favorite of the fish and chips crowd….add a little vinegar to the fish. Also got to try mushy peas. More walking history and art work on the street. Followed by tempting curries at Aladins. Another famous place Beigel’s sandwiches. Salted beef with mustard sandwich with a dill pickle…..more than anyone could eat! Open 24-7 ..no key for the front door as it has never been closed! Then for the final cup of proper English tea and a piece of Toffee cake. Utterly delightful.

This was a fun tour which included a shocking amount of food, and all of it was delicious. The group was full, and the guide was genial and informative. It was a Sunday, so Brick Lane and Spitalfields Market were very busy, but it just added to the fun. I don't know if slagging Margaret Thatcher was "on script" or not, but I generally would recommend avoiding politics. However, that would not keep me from enjoying another food tour. I did my first food tour with this company many years ago in Rome and as a result, have been on food tours all around the world. Although always fun, the Testaccio tour remains almost mythical in my memory - until now. The East End tour not only takes you to super tasty places (the bread pudding! the fish and chips! so many yummy curries!) but also includes a tour of historical points of interest which really adds to the enjoyment. You leave with a real sense of the place, so much more that just a food tasting. Lauren and her infectious energy and knowledge were really the cherry on top. It's a must do!
