EXPERT INTERVIEW WITH CLASSIC AMERICAN MUSCLE

An exciting new experience we’ve added recently is those of Classic American Muscle, suppliers of fantastic Mustang driving experiences! Priding themselves on giving drivers significantly longer behind the wheel than other providers, and situated on the famous Brands Hatch circuit, this driving experience is the perfect gift for any major petrol-head. I spoke to Amy to understand what it is about Classic American Muscle that sets them above the rest.

1) Please explain your journey as ‘Classic American Muscle’ so far.

Chief ARDS instructor Stewart Lyddall has been in the motoring industry for 10 years and racing for over 15. He started rallying at the age of 18 and soon switched to circuit racing. Stewart wanted to work in the racing industry doing something he loved, he’s previously worked for a host of well respected brands in the industry including Jaguar, BMW, Aston Martin, Ariel Atom, Land Rover and various top supercar experience companies and race schools. Together with Ant Webb who has a real passion for classic American muscle cars having owned a Mustang at the age of 19 they’ve built Classic American Muscle, a unique muscle car experience. Being able to work with a fabulous range of cars and seeing the pleasure these cars bring to our customers is the best part of the job. Thinking up new ideas and experiences to offer our customers is what challenges us on a daily basis.

2) What has been the biggest or most memorable event you’ve provided?

Chief ARDS Instructor, Stewart Lyddall has appeared on Motor CV and Euro Sport, he has also instructed various sporting personalities and celebrities with extensive experience within the industry and holds the 4 x Jaguar XJS V12 Champion.

3) Is there any inside information you can give us?

The best advice we can give is listen to your ARDS instructor they’re there to help and allow you to get the most from your experience. All our experiences are different so it’s hard to choose one, the full experience allows you the most driving time.

4) Do you have any exciting plans for the future that you’d like to tell us about?

We do have lots of new, exciting products and projects in the pipeline, our latest experience, which will be added soon is the Running Black Thunder Drift Passenger Ride £49 for 3 laps. There are motor sport experiences out there but they are limited when it comes to vintage American muscle cars, which is what we are offering. We’ve also planned our experiences to enable the consumer to enjoy their whole time at the event, so we’ve planned a bit of a show at the same time; you’ll be able to look around different American muscle cars and watch a show of a police car chasing a General Lee Dodge Charger!

How fast can we go? Your ARDS instructor will help you improve your speed and technique allowing you to experience the exhilaration of these cars in a safe environment.
