Our guide Caron was the highlight of the tour. Passionate, clear and knowledgeable....she would fit on a theatre stage or heading a political rally. We got a wonderful overview of the city, learnt many interesting facts. Highly recommended for people on a short Glasgow visit....or for people on longer stays, it gives a quick overview and perspective on what you would like to do in Glasgow.

Wasn’t advised that the international cycling championships were on in Glasgow and most streets in the city centre were either closed or blocked Ruth spectators. I couldn’t get to the meeting place due to the crowds and it was not until I finally got back to my hotel that I received a message to advise the tour was cancelled. I would have thought all city walk tours round have been cancelled this week. I have even offered a refund.

My husband and I took part in the tour on Friday 11/10. Our tour guide was Louise who was very knowledgable and entertaining. The great thing was that we saw parts of the city we would probably never have visited. Louise has lots of great stories about the city and its people throughout the years. I would recommend this tour, it lasted just over 2 1/2 hours and was excellent value for money.

We were only 6 persons taking part in the tour which was a nice opportunity to get to know each other more closely and was a lot of fun. I saw a lot of amazing things I would have missed on my own and Rachel showed us what it‘s like to live in Glasgow and let us feel the way of life there.

We did the tour last Monday and were visiting from Ireland. The tour was truly exceptional and professional. Our guide, Katie, was warm, enthusiastic and went out of her way to engage with everyone who was taking part in the tour. It was so lovely to see someone show such pride in their city and sell the place so well to tourists. She gave us great recommendations for places to go, as well as pubs and restaurants, that you just wouldn’t get by searching online. We did the tour on our first day and I would highly recommend this to everyone – it really set us up nicely for the rest of our holiday. The tour itself is excellently paced and planned out – there seemed to be something to spot and discuss every five minutes or so, and our guide was able to answer any questions and discuss at great depth things about Glasgow which would’ve otherwise fallen under the radar. There seems to be a focus on so many diverse aspects of the city as well, including religion, music, education, sport, history etc. There was something for everyone to relate to. The murals were a delight to look at and only added to the already excellent experience. Having done the open top bus tour, I feel that the walking tour was far more comprehensive and allowed participants to really get a sense of Glasgow’s history, and most importantly, its people. I got a real sense of the city from it and it left me dying to come back to the city! I would enthusiastically recommend this tour to anyone visiting Glasgow and suggest that it would be the first thing you do in the city. It’s worthy of six stars and I’m looking forward to doing it again!
