We had a great time on this excursion. Our guide was Alister, he was very knowledgeable and fun to spend the day with. They picked us up at the ship and got us back with plenty of time to spare. Would definitely recommend this tour.

I can’t say enough about this wonderful excursion! Our tour guide went out of his way to make sure we saw everything that we were wanting to see and more! I personally wanted to see a Coo and he stopped at a farm so I could see some and stopped at any overlook that we wanted to stop at to take pictures! He was very knowledgeable and gave us a history related to our stops on the tour!

We were driven around to the various locations but it was not a guided tour on any of the sights we visited. We had to google the information, look at the signs and eavesdrop from the other tour guides. However, our driver was likeable and was knowledgeable about Scotland in general. Overall, I would suggest joining a different tour company.

Overall I didn't like our tour. It was unorganized and rushed. We paid for a small group but our driver/tour guide announced we were traveling behind another van and would be joining them at stops to listen to the other tour guide. He was nice enough but actually discouraged us from going to see Urquhart Castle. We insisted but were very rushed. Over all not worth the money or time.

The tour was supposed to start at 10am, but an email was sent the night before saying they would meet us at 8:30am, while my phone was dead & there was no internet signal. By the time my email came through, we were on the cruise ship & it was 8:45am. We tried to get to the meeting point as fast as we could, but found out they left without us at 9am. We called Viator & asked if we could take a taxi to catch up with them, but they said they didn’t know where they would be. We ended up splitting a private taxi tour with another couple, to hit all the Outlander sites, and it was wonderful!!

We loved this tour and the guide was wonderful. At first we weren't too sure about the price and places of interest, but booked anyways because of the bonus option of the port pickup. We feel this tour gave us so much more than the regular tourist stops. Seeing Inverness, Culloden, Clava Cairns, Loch Ness - cute little Nessy and a few extra surprises. Our guide made every minute count (especially since we lost so much time waiting for a late/or no show passenger). We would definitely book this again and highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn more about the area through the eyes of a passionate Scot!

We booked our tour directly with Go Highlands Tours. fast and easy booking, at an affordable price. When arriving at Invergordon port with Aida, we were surprised of being the only guests for this tour. So Alastair made it a remarkable private tour for us. He showed us all around the interesting and fascinating places, had a lot to explain and really some in-depth knowledge on the history of the Scottish clans and the riots against the British. We had plenty of time, no stress at all, a nice and clean car. Alastair made it a remarkable trip for us and I would recommend everyone to book there - we also met George, the other owner of Go Highlands - and he seems a one-of-a-kind man. So, both guides are great. We´re certainly coming back to Scotland. And- by the way- the weather was quite okay !!!

My husband, teenage son and I had the best tour experience and it was all thanks to our guide George Sr. What a wonderful treat to have such a sweet, knowledgeable man tour our family (+ another couple) all over the Scottish Highlands. Thank you so much for stopping at the Coos and enduring my crazy obsession of them. This experience could not have been any better.... well maybe hope for no rain at the battlefield.

We were excited to see Culloden and briefly stop at Clava Cairns and Beauly Priory. The tour was overbooked so they hired some independent tour guides to help. Our guide, George from a different tour company, was good but there wasn’t much communication between the Highland Tours agent and ours. The Highland Tours guide, also named George, likes to talk A LOT. So much so that we were at Clava Cairns waaaay to long and there aren’t toilets there. By the time we got to Culloden, there was no mention of departure time. We were told to meet at the doors to the exhibition in 30 minutes for battlefield tour. We did so only to find out that their tour ends at a house just this side of the battlefield. Were then give. 20 minutes to rerun to the van. 20 minutes is not enough time to walk the tombstones, see the battlefield and walk back. So prioritizing schedule appropriately is what this tour needs. G&H Tour guide was great but Go Highlands, not so much. 6 hour tour took 8 hours due to incessant speaking.

I wouldn’t recommend this tour to anyone , I booked this bade on trust I had for viator, but I wouldn’t oil again , first driver put us in small and dark windows van then took us to residential area to pick up other people, then he didn’t do anything base on viator itineraries and missed couple of attractions, he had very thick accents and everyone had a hard time understanding him , when we complained he said original tour owner pass this to him since he didn’t have space and he owned different company , and he does what he like , I ask for refund since my day was ruined , I called viator no help

We had a one-day stay in Invergordon on a cruise and unfortunately all the excursions offered from the ship were already fully booked. We were lucky because there couldn't have been a better tour than this one with George. With him we saw and experienced so much that we would never have managed in such a short time. He gave us quick access to the ticketed attractions and also surprised us with small unplanned stops that we would have missed otherwise. Although we've never seen Outlander, we booked the Outlander tour because we were most interested in the destinations. The best decision. We had 2 Germans in the group who didn't speak English very well and George always made sure to give us time to translate. 5 out of 5 stars and actually one more, we would choose a tour like this again at any time.

By far the best tour I’ve ever been on. Our guide, Sarah, was absolutely wonderful, very engaging, and knowledgeable of the Scottish Highlands. Her local knowledge of all the sites we visited made us feel like we were family visiting from the USA. The banter with her dad, owner of the tour company and who was hosting another group in a different van, was sweet and again played into feeling like we were family. The Clava Cairns surpassed my imagination with all the stories that were shared about its history and the mysteries behind it. My mom who is an avid Jaime & Claire fan from the TV show, loved hearing from Sarah how true to the cultures and histories the author was to honoring the Scottish Highlands. The war museum was interesting and I appreciated reading about the two sides of the war, the British & the Jackobites (spelling?). Similarly the castle on the banks of Loch Ness was incredible. Do be prepared to pay for the entrance fees to both museums. It’s worth the 10 pounds. By the time our tour ended, our entire group were sad to leave and planning to come back to spend more time in the Highlands. I should mention we were on a cruise and it was super easy to locate Go Highlands tour group as we departed our ship. Also the small caravan that holds 8, was a brilliant change from the larger tours we’ve done as part of our cruise. I HIGHLY recommend Go Highlands and this tour through the area when your travels bring you to this glorious country and area. When you do, please send my love to Sarah and her family!

Our GO HIGHLANDS tour was PERFECT! George was an amazing tour guide—10 out of 10 in every way! He shared the history of Scotland with wonderful stories as we drove from one fascinating and beautiful place to another. We visited Clava Cairns, Colloden, Urquhart Castle, Great Glen Distillery, stopped for lunch and shopped for souvenirs. George was attentive and adjusted our time/stops accordingly. We have traveled all over the world, and George at GO HIGHLANDS was the best tour guide ever. Would book again in a heartbeat! P. S. Yes, he wore a kilt and accoutrements! Wendy
