You will be able to concentrate on learning and practicing seeing "the light". Easy to reach locations and very accesible to public transport. I will definately try the other offerings of tours by this company next time I am in London.

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Even though it was a wet evening, Lou's expert coaching helped us to achieve some fantastic shots of the Southbank area. We had opportunities to experiment with moving people and lights, the major monuments, and water in our shots. I found Lou's advice on metering and achieving good exposure in this light extremely helpful. It was a very small group and we had a lot of attention and individual support. Lou is a great teacher, and I plan to go on further courses/ tours.

Highly recommended. This nighttime photography tour with Lou exceeded all my expectations. I was on holiday with my family in London and was looking for a photography guide to help improve my nighttime photography skills, while exploring the city. I found Lou on Trip Advisor and read through her ratings which were excellent. She did not disappoint! From the beginning, Lou took the time to understand my photography skills and what I was hoping to accomplish during the evening. Her background in fine arts, teaching and her superior photography skills made for a most enjoyable evening and one of the highlights of my trip to London. By the end of the 3-hour photo session, I had a much better understanding of my own camera, and more importantly how to compose great photos which I would be proud to display in my home. I was very pleased and would highly recommend Lou for anyone looking to capture great photos of London. I plan to return to London Photo Tours and Workshops on my next trip to London. Thanks Lou!

I had the absolute best experience wandering the streets of London with the enchanting Lou while learning so much re composing photos, aperture, ISO, focal length and the joys of my camera capturing photographic memories of the icons of London. Lou was so patient, knowledgeable and worked through the issues in relation to taking photos- and she made it all so easy and simple and I took photos which I really did not think I could take to the level which I did- Lou just inspires you to do this by her gentle encouragement. Lou has the most delightful way of explaining the vagaries of photography and you never once felt you could not ask her any questions in relation to taking photographs ...you never felt that your questions were silly or banal- Lou, in her amazing way, just quietly explained what you needed to know pitched exactly at your level of knowledge- a true educator!! So I undertook a 5 hour private tour using neutral density filters- Oh wow was that so much fun as we made water silky and the London Eye pods disappear!! and I also did the night time tour and that was just a total fun time and I produced pictures of London Bridge which I had only dreamt I would be able to obtain - but I actually did. These tours are just the best way to see London, make great memories and realise that with expert photographers, like the wonderful Lou, that everyone can produce the most amazing photos!!to remember their wonderful trip to London Thank you Lou- I shall be back!!

Apart from seeing and photographing so many iconic sights along the River Thames, the 3 hours I spent with Lou Smith were both educational and fun. Lou is a most amiable and professional instructor. She has a talent in teaching you to find the best approach to photographing your scene. I learnt a lot in a short space of time and really enjoyed the opportunity to talk about camera settings etc. I only wish I could have gone for another tour before leaving London but came away with some great photos!

I attended the London night photography workshop on Tue 20th Feb. My tutor was Lou Smith. During this workshop we began at the London Eye photographing the riverside and London Eye itself from vantage points and then gradually made our way over to Westminster Bridge to photograph Big Ben with the bridge in the foreground. Eventually we ended the workshop at the opposite side of the river to the London Eye with a direct front facing view of the London Eye. I came with no night photography or long exposure experience whatsoever and during the workshop learnt about how best to expose an image using aperture, shutter speed, iso and most important of all the magical histogram. I also learnt a great deal about my camera from Lou who knew it inside out. Though this is just the beginning I feel it's given me a strong footing in the fundamentals of night photography which I carry forward into my own learning adventures. Thank you Lou for a fascinating evening of photography. I've also just booked your Lightroom course to gain an introduction to post processing my images. See you then!

Lou is extremely talented both as a photographer and as an artist and she is patient and kind in her instruction. I left her tour with new photography skills and some awesome pictures of London. I have been to London many times but wanted some help with my evening pictures (I am an eager novice when it comes to photography). Lou was fantastic in determining what I wanted from the tour customizing the evening to my needs based on my knowledge base. Not only was Lou a delightful and patient tutor, but the pictures and techniques have stayed with me and impacted the later part of my trip. If you are interested in learning how to take better pictures of the city at night, and getting more comfortable with your camera, I can not recommend Lou and this tour highly enough. I fully intend to book her again when I am next in town.

Lou was a fantastic teacher. I was new to the camera that I brought along for the tour, but Lou has such great experience on various cameras that she was able to get me up and running in no time. We largely stayed in the area around the London Eye because I had to cut the tour duration by an hour, but Lou adjusted and made sure that every minute was time well spent. She had great thoughts on composition and camera settings, and was engaging throughout the tour. I was extremely pleased and will look forward to hiring her the next time I get to London.

I booked a photo tour with Lou rather last minute while I was in London on a business trip. For context, I'm a semi-pro who knows the functionality of my camera well. What I'm still very much learning is composition and framing. I have taken photo tours in New York, Paris, Yosemite, Hawaii, and London for comparison. Lou demonstrated great knowledge of both the technical details specific to night photography on a Nikon (she's a Canon shooter personally and translated well enough for me to follow along). She also was able to key on the the artistic framing and composition areas that I was more eager to learn and engage on. I think you would enjoy a tour with her both from a beginner or enthusiast perspective as long as you share your learning goals with her. She had a schedule we were following where we could get some prep shooting and understand each other's knowledge of photography. From there she was well prepared to make sure we hit blue hour and other key times appropriately without feeling rushed. We didn't do any post-processing afterwards, but given the allotted time and the fact that it was a night photo tour I would consider that completely normal. Overall I highly recommend spending time with Lou if you are interested in photographing London.

This is my second photography course with Lou, having previously undertaken the beginners course a number of years ago. We met at the London Eye, during some pretty miserable weather - making for some great photography. Lou is a knowledgeable, engaging and patient teacher who quickly puts you at ease. I have always wanted to do slow shutter speed photography but never had the confidence or know where to start. Lou set me on the right track, showed me the best way to set up and what to think about. We then had a great few hours walking the South Bank of the Thames taking different types of night scene photography. I learnt so much and took some amazing photos along the way. I would highly recommend this, or any other of Lou's courses. Whilst COVID meant there were extra precautions to take (mask, sanitizer etc) it never got in the way of a great, interactive, practical course. Lou's passion for photography and to share her skills shine through it all. Thanks Lou.

From my perspective setting up the experience with Lou and the team was dead simple and they were very helpful with any questions I had. My wife had an absolutely brilliant time and said it was as much a learning experience as it was a wonderful night on. We booked the private tour. One of us is technically competent and the other much less so. Lou was prompt to meet us at Waterloo. Having assessed what we hoped to achieve from the evening, we went onto explore creative shots along the South Bank. Lou has an extensive knowledge of all makes of camera and I can’t believe how much I learned about my new Nikon in the 3 hour tour. Lou is a fantastic teacher both in the knowledge of the settings required for the shot but also her creativity when thinking of the composition of the shot. There is so much to learn from Lou at both the beginners and more advanced level. Not least she is extremely good company. I loved it!

It was a great experience with Lou she is a fantastic teacher sitting down with me to see what level I was (beginner) and what did I know about my camera. I understand the principal of ISO, focus, shutter speed, and more as well as my camera workings far better with her. I have far greater pictures with her guidance than I would have on my own. I was going to wing it with what I learned on you tube (LOL). I am certainly glad I booked this trip. I will certainly practice what I have learned from her. Thank you, Lou, for an excellent night photography photo walk and tuition. It was a rather cold and overcast/cloudy evening, as we started out from Waterloo Station, and I had been thinking that there probably wouldn't be much chance of getting any great photos, however I actually got some really great captures of the iconic views around Southbank and Westminster. Moreover, with Lou's thoughtful, extensive and hand's on tuition, throughout the photowalk, I really learned a lot about: my DSLR camera - I hadn't even known it had an electronic level!; how to make the best of my kit in low light; and how to use it at night for various types of shot. The time really flew by. Really pleased with all the new skills I have learned. Highly recommended and Lou is one of the best photography tutors I have met.
