Photography Experience Days: The New Forest Photography Experience Day is perfect for anyone who has an interest in photography and wants to improve their skills - and also those who enjoy spending the day exploring beautiful countryside! It doesn't matter what level you are at because this experience can be enjoyed by both beginners and those with experience, and working with expert photographer Michael Palmer, you will be surprised at just how far you can come in one day. In a group, you will explore the beautiful New Forest National Park and have plenty of opportunities to snap lots of professional looking images. You will learn about aperture and shutter priority modes, ISO, exposure compensation, manual/macro focusing and white balance, as well as having several 'projects' to work on throughout the day. This is a hugely enjoyable photography day out where you will learn a lot, get to socialise with like-minded people and enjoy your beautiful surroundings. The perfect experience gift for any budding photographer or just a superb day out to enjoy yourself.

The New Forest Photography Experience Day will begin at 1pm when you meet your photographer, Michael, and the other members of your group, usually in a New Forest village. After a tea or coffee you will head out for the first part of the photography walk; Michael will be available throughout the day to answer any questions you may have and to make sure you get the best from your camera. During the your experience, you will cover aperture and shutter priority modes, ISO, exposure compensation, white balance, and manual and macro focusing, as well as working on several 'projects'. At around 2:30pm you will return to your meeting point where you will have the opportunity to share and review the photos you have captured with your group and discuss what you have learnt. The experience will conclude at 15:00.

Communication was very poor with the booking and the arrangments. The session was good and location interesting, but it was a very short, only 2 hours long which was very disappointing.

Although it was a bit difficult making the booking everything turned out fine. Lovely location and the chap taking the course (forgotten his name - sorry) was very pleasant indeed. Everyone else on the day were also extremely friendly with everyone prepared to help each other and no 'know-alls' that these courses can sometimes attract. Would thoroughly recommend for any beginner or for those just wanting to move from 'auto' to more creative photography - a really good first step.

Luckily the weather was glorious on the day, so the 5 of us had a good session which started out with a request for us to ‘go and shoot some cows’ and finished with interior photography of St Michaels Church. In between we covered the basics of digital photography in a relaxed manner, which brought the basic controls to life. To add to the interest we were tasked with treating each segment as a small project, comparing our photos at the end over a cup of tea. A worthwhile day which really gets you used to controlling your camera.
