First practised by our Hawaiian friends, Stand Up Paddleboarding, otherwise known as SUP, has become popular across the globe and is now said to be the fastest growing watersport, worldwide. Unlike surfing, paddleboarding does not require waves, meaning that it can be practised on any open body of water rather than just on the coast. Requiring only a board, paddle, and a sense of balance, SUP is the perfect watersport for people of all ages and our beginner lessons are a great way to get out on the water and have some fun whilst keeping fit!

Paddleboarding and SUP Experience Gifts
Stand up paddleboarding (or SUP as it’s known for short), is the fastest growing water sport in the world for good reason. It’s a fun activity that brings together adventure and exercise in the great outdoors.
While stand up paddleboarding gives you an amazing full body workout, you don’t have to be super fit to take part. It’s a low-impact activity that strengthens your entire body, works your core, and develops your fitness without putting your joints under any strain. The hardest part is learning to stand up, but once you’ve mastered that, you can take it at your own pace, so it’s perfect for all ages and fitness levels.
Stand up paddleboarding is good for your mind and soul as well. There are few activities as mindful as gently paddling down a river on a SUP. It gives you an opportunity to get away from it all, to clear your mind, and to connect with the natural world. In fact, research has shown that stand up paddleboarding can lower levels of stress and anxiety.
Try stand up paddleboarding in some of the most spectacular natural settings in the UK. Take a guided SUP tour on the River Wye in Gloucestershire, enjoy a one-hour stand up paddleboarding experience on the beautiful River Adur in the South Downs, hit the River Leam near Leamington Spa for a full day paddleboarding experience, and with rugged mountain ranges and sparkling water in every direction, there can be few settings more breath-taking than the Isle of Arran for a 90-minute beginners paddleboard session.
You can enjoy the benefits of stand up paddleboarding in urban settings as well. Head to London for a 2-hour introduction to paddleboarding, during which you’ll learn basic paddleboarding techniques, before putting your new skills to the test on London’s waterways, or hit Hove Lagoon in Brighton for an exhilarating day splashing around on the water.
If you already have some paddleboarding experience, a stand up paddleboard rental is the way to go. Discover the spectacular scenery round the Lower Lliw Reservoir at your own pace with a one or two-hour Swansea SUP rental. After a short introduction and safety briefing, explore the lush green countryside from the water, keeping your eyes peeled for birds and other wildlife.
Have a go at stand up paddleboarding or treat somebody you love to a stand up paddleboarding experience gift. It’s an amazing activity for all ages.
