In early June my colleague Connor and I headed up to Leeds from our offices down in Brighton. This was our biggest trip to date, so it's safe to say that we were even more excited than usual. When we finally got to the Live for Today activity centre to take part in an Extreme Quad Biking Experience we couldn't wait to get stuck in.

On our way to the activity centre Connor and I were discussing what we thought the experience was going to be like and we just couldn't wait to begin. When we arrived, we could not believe our eyes. The park was beautiful, and everything was well looked after. Some fairy lights were installed, and it felt very welcoming. We met our very friendly guide who kitted us out in the proper attire, including gloves and a helmet. Next, we met the rest of the group. On this particular day it was a lovely couple. After the detailed brief given by our instructor, we climbed onto our quad bikes ready to depart. Connor and I were located at the end of the line, with the couple in front of us, and the instructor guiding the group.

3, 2, 1… GO! Our instructor kicked off the experience by going straight into the forest, where we were surrounded by beautiful vegetation. It was magnificent! We felt lucky to take part in such a unique experience. We were all new to driving the unique off-road vehicles and as we attempted to control our quad bikes some people occasionally went straight into bushes and trees. At one point, one of our group started accelerating into a bush and for some reason she could not stop. Even though from an outside perspective this can sound scary, the reality was that we were all in fits of laughter together. It was hilarious.

After we’d made our way through the forest, we arrived in a field to practice using the quad bikes in a slightly different way. Here, we learned to drive around tires and boxes to master our steering and control. By the end of it, we felt like true professionals. It’s hard to put into words just how much fun we had. Connor and I were trying to race with each other. It was exhilarating! Next, we continued on the off-road track and made our way through tricky parts of the path. Mud splashed up at us a couple of times as we drove through different terrains, and we were even given the challenge of reversing. Despite these challenges, I still wish I had a quad bike, so that I could do this every day.

This is the perfect gift for anyone looking to try quad biking for the first time or for those who are looking for an adrenaline rush in the great outdoors. The location is absolutely beautiful, the instructor was friendly and charismatic and most importantly, we had so much fun. This is an experience that I will remember forever. You cannot miss this.
