BRIGIT'S B BAKERY TRADITIONAL AFTERNOON TEA COVENT GARDEN EXPERIENCE DAYS REVIEW
It can be difficult trying to decide on the best place to go for an afternoon tea in London, as there's such an impressive number of venues and menus. So, to make things a lot easier for you, our team went to Covent Garden to try out one of our afternoon tea packages and provide you with a review of the entire experience.
We know it's very important to get the location right for your afternoon tea, because you don't want to be walking around for a long time trying to get to the venue. B Bakery is located in Covent Garden, so from London Victoria we only needed to take a short underground journey and then walk no more than 10 minutes to the venue. It was nice because during the short walk we got to pass through Covent Garden Square, where all the entertainers perform and create an exciting atmosphere.
As we walked into the venue, we were greeted with a very warm welcome by the host and shown to our neatly-laid table. I was mesmerised by the beautifully designed room, with vases filled with colourful flowers and elegant floral tea pots placed as ornaments on the window sill. It wasn't long after we'd sat down that our host came over and gave us a delicious glass of freshly squeezed orange juice and presented us with the tea menu. It was wonderful to hear that throughout the afternoon we'd be allowed an unlimited supply of tea, so the impossible decision of picking just one tea from the impressive menu wasn't an issue.
Another important part of an afternoon tea is that the service is quick and attentive, as when you see other tables enjoying their magnificent selection of treats, you don't want to be missing out. It must have been just after 10 minutes that our host bought over our teas in two beautifully designed floral tea pots. I was impressed to see that he also bought over the three-tiered afternoon tea and let's just say it looked too good to eat!
On the top and middle tiers there was a selection of homemade cakes. The chocolate mini cupcake was definitely the favourite and we also really enjoyed the passion, mango and coconut tart and vanilla creme pâtissière choux with blackcurrant compotée. I would have to say that the freshly prepared savories on the bottom tier were definitely the highlight of the afternoon tea. Not only did they have a mix of breads to go with the delicious fillings but we were delighted that a few had been heated up - I've certainly never experienced this before in an afternoon tea.
When we'd finished all the treats, our server quickly tidied the table and checked if we needed another pot of tea - of course we said yes to our unlimited option! As he bought over the tea he also presented us with a freshly made scone that had clearly just come out the oven. We really couldn't believe the amount of food that was included in our afternoon tea and we agreed the food was certainly the best we've had for variety, quantity and quality.
As we made our way back home, we both couldn't stop talking about our afternoon tea at B Bakery. The service throughout was exactly as you'd want it, with a very smiley server who made sure that we received a high standard of service. The atmosphere in the room was idyllic for the experience with the latest releases of music playing subtly in the background, a simple but beautifully decorated room and a chatty vibe from everyone having a pleasant time. So, If you're looking for a cool afternoon tea in London, then we've found the right one for you! You really do need to see for yourself how amazing this afternoon tea experience is.
