STAFF REVIEW: LONDON CABARET COCKTAIL CLUB - 3 COURSE MEAL, COCKTAIL AND SHOW

Share

What an evening! Filled with incredible performances, masterfully created cocktails, and a whole lot of laughter, this Cabaret experience is perfect for any adults who want to get together for a unique night out in London.

Friday had finally arrived, and that evening Gemma and I would be heading up to London to experience our very first Cabaret performance! Our tickets included a meal and a complimentary cocktail on arrival, so we couldn’t wait for the night to begin.

Straight after work, we quickly got changed in the office. Since the dress code is advertised as ‘Dress To Impress’, the outfit choice was an important and extremely intense decision! We then stumbled very slowly down to the train station in our heels. Once in London Victoria, we caught a tube to Tower Hill underground station before trotting down to Proud Cabaret’s City venue.

As we approached the building, we were struck by the incredible light bulb display framing the entrance, making for a perfect photo opportunity. Feeling incredibly glamorous, we were introduced to the security who directed us downstairs into the 1920’s speakeasy style showroom. We were shown to our seats by a very smiley cocktail waitress in front of the stage, given menus, and served a delicious tropical flavoured cocktail to start off the evening.

All the bar staff and cocktail waitresses were extremely friendly and helpful while we ordered, and were at hand for any queries we may have had. After a few drinks and cheerful chatter, our meals had arrived - gorgeously cooked steak on a bed of vegetables and creamy mash - highly recommended!

Having practically licked the plate clean, I saw the lights were dimming, which meant the show was about to begin. The first act was performed by the host, who was incredibly comical. Her phrases and one liners almost had Gemma and I in tears of laughter. Her interaction with the audience and confidence was great to see, and really got everyone ready for the night ahead!

As she called out the next act, the lights glowed red, indicating that this was definitely going to be a much fierier and seductive act. At that moment, a beautiful burlesque dancer appeared wearing a red velvet gown. It wasn’t on for too long though! She performed her routine, and left us all stunned. What an incredible show! After a few more acts involving hula hoops, feathers, and a lot of lacy lingerie, it was onto our final dance of the evening: a fire eating performer! She literally lit up the room with her presence, and got everyone staring. She made it look easy!

Then out came our delicious desserts. I ordered a chocolate crème brûlée whilst Gemma opted for the strawberry cheesecake, and we definitely were not disappointed!  After a few more drinks, we staggered off to the tube for our final train home.

Gemma and I had a fantastic night at Proud Cabaret, and will definitely be retuning with friends for an evening of hilarity and brilliant fun! It is most certainly a perfect gift for groups wanting a unique night out to remember.
