Skydiving Experience Days: Tandem Skydiving with the Army Parachute Association in Netheravon is up there with the most extreme of activities available today, as the mixture of intense adrenaline and incredible views of the Salisbury and Wiltshire countryside ensure parachuting experiences at one of Europe's largest drop zones are some of the best in the country. With three dedicated planes and a team of highly experienced skydivers, your tandem jump will be the most spectacular passenger ride of your life - as all you have to do is turn up and enjoy yourself! With 45 seconds of free fall and an overall height of around 13,000ft, this tandem skydive in Netheravon is one of the most exciting experiences you could possibly do!
Your tandem skydive experience with Netheravon's Army Parachute Association will begin with a welcome to the Salisbury airfield, where you'll sign the registration documents and move to the video room. After a video brief on what to do, you can move to the practice mats to begin some simple training in where to put your limbs and head throughout the jump - and then you'll be ready to dress up in the safety gear. Once fully dressed up in your jump suit, cap and goggles - the instructor will strap your back to his chest and you'll both take a seat on the floor of the plane. Sat between his legs and in one of two rows, the plane will take you up to the desired height, and the hatch will open ready to begin the descent! Once the first jumper has made the leap, you'll shuffle your way to the hatch - where you can dangle your legs over the edge, take in the views, and roll forward on the instructor's call. After around 45 seconds of incredible free fall, covering 13,000ft at 120mph; the instructor will deploy the parachute and you'll begin the gentler float back to ground level - which should take around 6-7 minutes. Once landed, you'll take off the safety gear, be presented with a certificate and will be free to go home!
