Learn about Brands Hatch Experience Gifts
Many believe that Brands Hatch 'Brands Hatch' derives its name from the Gaelic 'Brondehach' - 'bron' meaning "wooded slope" and 'hach' meaning "forest entrance" - Highlighting the Garden of England Status associated with Kent, which is where the 2.6 mile circuit is based.
Brands Hatch has been operating as a motorsport venue for many years, and also hosted12 runnings of the the British Grand Prix between 1964 and 1986, when Nigel Mansell set the fastest lap time in his William Renault F1 Car.Many years before the glory years of Formula One Racing, Brands Hatch had hosted many cycling and motorcycling events after the circuit had begun life as a dirt track turned circuit - due to the natural contours being created on the farm from machinery providing an excellent venue for cycling. This set up attracted cyclists and enthusiasts from around the country, most notably coming from London where a group led by Ron Argent utilised the grounds for a series of races and time trials.
Today, Brands Hatch is used for many track days including one of the fastest available; the Radical - which is a tiny bit different from the more commonly driven Ferrari, Lamborghini and Audi R8 driving experiences.
