Crowne Plaza Marlow Spa Experiences

The hotel itself is at the far (dead) end of a long trading estate, so not a great location, and you can't walk around the lake, but if you ask for directions there is nearby a nice 25 minute riverside walk (Thames Path) directly into Marlow. All of the staff were very friendly, the leisure facilities were good and we were upgraded to a room with a larger bed and separate shower and bath, very nice. The set evening meal was great, my one concern is that they automatically add on a 12.5% service charge to the whole pre-voucher cost, which for us (having enjoyed the included set menu, plus one bottle of house wine, sparkling water (£4.95) and one extra (£5.50) vegetable dish) came to £12.35, so we paid £50+ on top of the voucher ! If you are giving this experience as an all-inclusive gift this might come as an unwelcome added cost. (I know it's meant to be discretionary, but we all know that it's embarrassing to ask for the service charge to be removed from the bill!) The bottom of the bill then asked if you wanted to leave an extra gratuity! Apart from this one niggle, we had a lovely break at the Crowne Plaza Marlow, thank you!
