    Food and Drink Experience Gifts

Food-based gifts or experiences are one of the most fail-safe tokens of appreciation that you can give; after all, food, like love, makes the world go round. Our passion for all things culinary means that whether you're looking for the perfect present for a loved one or an enjoyable day out for yourself, you're guaranteed to find something that will both tantalise and treat your taste buds! Gourmet experiences make ideal gifts for foodies: creative types will enjoy the many different culinary workshops, from chocolate making, to curry cookery, to classic street food workshops; laid-back types will appreciate a delicious dinner boat cruise; and food connoisseurs will relish the chance to participate in wine and food tasting courses.

For those who love chocolate (and let's face it, who doesn't?) there can be no greater indulgence than a chocolate making workshop. During these hugely enjoyable and informative classes, you will get the opportunity to experience the beauty of your own chocolate creations and take home some of your homemade delicious treats - perfect for giving out as thoughtful gifts, although equally perfect for munching yourself.

For those who like to get out and about, why not combine your love of food with a fantastically enjoyable river cruise or train journey? With a wide range of locations across the UK, you can take a fascinating trip and dine in style as you and a loved one are treated to a feast of fine cuisine. Take in some of our country's most famous sights as you gently cruise down a river, or roll your way through the country in a beautiful Belmond British Pullman train. Whatever your favourite mode of transport, you can be assured of an incredible experience that is perfect for socialising, celebrating or even networking!

For foodies with an appetite for foreign cuisine, why not treat them to something they can enjoy for the rest of their lives? Cookery courses give you fun and instructive culinary guidance, and you will take away some fantastic new cookery skills. Whether you're into Thai, Spanish, Middle Eastern or African cuisine, whether you have cravings for curry or fervour for fish, you are guaranteed to find your perfect cookery course at Experience Days.

For those who are partial to a tipple or two, why not treat a loved one (or yourself!) to a wine tasting workshop or vineyard tour? Offering a fascinating insight into the world of wine, these workshops will allow you to appreciate the delicacy of a good wine, learn how to correctly taste it, and understand the subtlety of what makes each wine distinct.

We all deserve a treat now and then, and at Experience Days there is something to suit every palate! So whether you are interested in a classic cookery lesson, a whisky tasting masterclass or a food tour of London's markets, you are guaranteed to find the perfect food and drink based experience gift for any occasion.

Excellent service, food and setting. We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff who then presented us with a glass of champagne each, a very nice touch. There was also an excellent selection of teas, coffee and soft drinks, which were refilled multiple times. The afternoon tea itself was delicious, consisting of a variety of finger sandwiches, plain and fruit scones with clotted cream and jam and a selection of cakes/tarts/pastries. Overall a very enjoyable experience. The only issue we encountered was the booking process. I originally sent an email but got no reply. Therefore I phoned to book, but never received the promised confirmation email. I rang up again on the day to check that all was okay, the staff were unhelpful and didn't seem to know anything, so I had to make a completely new booking.

This was my first afternoon tea experience and it was great! The staff at Rubens Hotel were very friendly and accommodating. There was a nice selection of traditional sandwiches and teas. The scones were absolutely delicious and my favorite part. (I enjoyed the cakes as well.) All in all, it was a wonderful afternoon. Highly recommended.

    FAQ

I've received an Indian Cookery Class voucher but don't want to go, can I exchange it?

All Experience Days vouchers are exchangeable provided they have not been redeemed. Simply type in the voucher code and click Exchange, then choose from thousands of exciting activities. Remember, exchanging doesn't change the expiry date of the voucher, so be sure to check the Availability sections of each experience to find one that suits.

Where can I take a chocolate truffle making lesson?

Chocolate making lessons come in all shapes and sizes, but we've handily put them all together in this category! By using the location filters, price dropdowns and Map icon, you can narrow your search and find a chocolate course near you.

What do you wear to afternoon tea?

Although there's no strict dress code for afternoon tea experiences, it's advised to wear smart-casual clothing.

Where can I learn to cook Thai food?

Thai cookery classes are available across the UK, so to reduce your search it's best to use the Map or location filters, then decide based on price and course content. Popular locations for Thai cooking lessons are Glasgow, Gloucester and London!

I'd like to book a vegan food tour, do you have gift vouchers for these?

We offer a couple of vegan food tours in both Camden and Shoreditch that may be of interest. Everything purchased online comes as a gift certificate valid for 12 months, sent via email or as a gift pack in the post. Simply follow the redemption instructions on the voucher and book a date at your convenience. Alternatively, we're happy to check availability for you prior to purchase.

We live in Birmingham so what would be our closest cooking lesson?

We currently have two cooking lessons available in central Birmingham; a Three Hour Indian Cookery Class and a Caribbean Cooking Class available as a half or full day. If you head to the Cooking Lessons category page and click the map, you can view all experiences within your region and the surrounding area.

I'm interested in booking an afternoon tea experience but my friend is gluten free, will they be able to accommodate that?

All afternoon tea experiences are slightly different, so we'd advise first choosing a location or price range to narrow down your options. Once you've found the perfect afternoon tea, we're happy to contact them on your behalf to enquire about dietary requirements.
