What Should I Wear To A Family Photoshoot?
The most important thing is for you (and everyone else in the family) to fell comfortbale. Here's a selection of advice collated from photography professionals.
- Plain colours - Stick with a basic palette for everyone. Generally speaking, keeping the number of colours between one and three makes the most sense. Softer colours look better on babies and select two main complimentary colours for the adults in the group.
- Choose practical clothing items - If you're going to be outside and there's a chance of rain, or dirt and dust choose something practical if it's not possible to quickly change outfits.
- Skip the logos - Avoid clothing with overpowering logos and brands. The family is the focus not the brand.
- Wear suitable footwear - Wear Suitable Footwear. For a family photoshoot, choose footwear that complements your outfits and aligns with the theme of the shoot. Even if the shoot isn't going to feature your feet you could be standing for a while so make sure you have comfortbale shoes, especially if you're outside.
- Avoid neons - Simply speaking, neon colours don't photograph well. Neons reflect the light onto skin in difficult to control ways and can be almost impossible to efit out. So unless you're aiming for a 70s style theme... stick to the plain tones!
- Avoid pictures and slogans - Just like well known logos, big pictures and slogans can be distracting. Unless your child's favourite Spiderman PJs is the only way to ensure attendance, give the images a miss. Slogans can also be dated very quickly. Your Choose Life t-shirt will give your age away!
- Be comfortable - This is the most important aspect. Be comfortable as an individual and as a group. This is especially important if you have kids around and the shoot might run over time. Make sure you're happy to wear your outfit(s) for an elongated period.
- Choose coordinating colors, not matching - Full denim anyone? Choose things that compliment and don't just match. As with every other aspect, you are the subject and not the outfit.. that is until you hit the runway.
- Different textures - Different textures can create a warm friendly look especially for an outdoor autumnul shoot. Differening tones and textures can draw the eye around the image to highlight each person's style.

Questions About Photoshoot Experiences
How much does a professional photoshoot cost?
Anything from £15 to £500. However, as with anything, you get what you
pay for. When you're paying a low fee for the shoot, it's unlikely that
anything but a single image will be included. Good photographers are
full time professionals and their time is valuable. Of course the most
expensive part can be location, and if you're looking for an exotic
beach backdrop, you need to factor that in.
What should I wear for a family photoshoot?
For a family photo shoot, experts advise wearing comfortable and confident clothing that reflects your personality. Avoid graphic patterns, logos, and words, as they can be distracting. Plain colors work best, and coordinating outfits can be nice but are not necessary. Consider the environment and weather, and ensure clothes fit well. For children, avoid checks and tight dungarees. Glasses should be worn if normally used, and makeup should be natural. Always try on outfits before the day to ensure they are suitable.
What is a boudoir photo shoot?
A boudoir photo shoot is a style of intimate photography that captures sensual and romantic images, typically of women, in a private setting like a bedroom. Subjects often wear lingerie or revealing outfits, with the shoot focusing on flattering poses and celebrating the individual's beauty and confidence, often for personal empowerment or as a gift for a partner.
How many photoshoot gift voucher options do you have?
