STAFF REVIEW: LONDON LUXURY CABARET SHOW AND DINNER FOR TWO
| London Luxury Cabaret Show and Dinner
I have always admired the spectacular production of Cabaret shows, so when Lucy and I were invited along for a London Luxury Cabaret Show and Dinner at The London Cabaret Club, I was thrilled - and immediately started picking out my outfit!
The cabaret experience is located a five-minute walk from Holborn station in the stunning 1920s Victoria House. There is a strict dress code for the event, and smart evening wear is recommended. This was mine and Lucy’s first night out after lockdown, so were very excited to get dressed up.
| Arriving at The London Cabaret Club
It was clear that we were in for an evening full of luxury from the moment we arrived. We were greeted by a red carpet and friendly staff all in their black-tie attire. A lady in a long golden dress escorted us through a magical winter wonderland filled with twinkly lights and plenty of photo opportunities, leading us to our table in the Rose Bar where our pre-show entertainment would take place. The Rose Bar was beautifully lit with fairy lights and had a warm romantic atmosphere.
Once seated, our lovely waiter Constatin brought over a glass of complimentary Prosecco for Lucy and I whilst we browsed their drinks menu full of their signature and special festive cocktails! All the cocktails sounded delicious and we struggled to decide, so asked a waiter for their recommendations. I went for the White Christmas Martini (definitely my new favourite drink) whilst Lucy went for the Gingerbread Espresso Martini.
| Pre-show Entertainment
Shortly after our drinks arrived, the pre-show entertainment began. There were three talented singers who took it in turns to perform on the beautifully lit stage. They sang a variety of Christmas songs and James Bond theme songs to get us warmed up for the main show!
| The Ball Room
At around 6:30 we moved through to the Ball Room where our Christmas Royale James Bond inspired show would take place. The room was laid out in a way that allowed everyone to get a clear view of the stage, yet also stay socially distanced. Our table was set up with bread rolls and butter alongside a bottle of Sauvignon blanc to enjoy throughout the evening.
| Three Course Meal
Our dinner options were pre-ordered a few days before the event. Lucy and I both ordered the mushroom & truffle arancini with pea purée for starter. For main, I chose the roasted quail whilst Lucy went for the roasted Portobello mushroom option. Finally, for dessert we both went for the chocolate tart which was delicious!
| The Main Event
Our starter came out just before the first act came on stage. The show started with an impressive duet of the famous James Bond theme song ‘Skyfall’ alongside a perfectly choreographed dance.
Shortly after, the second act began. The performers came out dressed as beautiful angels, and the costumes made this performance absolutely breathtaking! I must say this was definitely one of my favourite acts. The dances throughout this Christmas Royale show were all incredible, and I’d love to watch them all again.
After our main course had arrived, it was time for the magician to take the stage. Lucy and I were left with our jaws dropped after watching this! I’m not going to reveal all his tricks, but he did make a parrot appear out of thin air which I was left very puzzled by.
One of the acts had travelled all the way from Las Vegas, and I must say they did not disappoint. They performed a high-speed roller-skating stunt which had me on the edge of my seat. I wish they had stayed on stage for longer, as I would have loved to see more!
| More Cocktails!
Lucy and I decided to treat ourselves to one more Christmas cocktail from the festive menu to go with our dessert. This time I picked Snow White and Lucy picked the Red Santa. Again, both very tasty cocktails.
The last act we saw was a form of aerial dance, which saw a golden woman spin upside down from her neck and ankles in a large champagne glass at very high speed! This was an unforgettable way to end our night as it was like nothing we had ever seen before.
Unfortunately, Lucy and I had to leave before the final act performed so there will be no spoilers there… all the more reason to go and see the show for yourself! Of course, we didn’t leave before taking some festive pictures in all the perfect photo spots.
