TOP 10 DAYS OUT IN WALES
Wales is known for its beautiful sights, rocky coastline, and
stunning national parks, Snowdonia being the largest and most well-known. Snowdonia
is home to Mount Snowdon, the largest mountain in Wales. When at the top, you
can even see views all the way to the Irish coast. The natural Welsh landscape
means that there are plenty of outdoor adventure experiences available that you
can’t do just anywhere in the UK!
We’ll be talking you through some of our favourite experiences for adventurous types who’re looking to traverse the rarely-visited parts of the country. The rugged natural beauty of Wales is just begging to be explored with gorge walking, kayaking and rock climbing - but don’t worry, there’s plenty of other experiences on offer for foodies and indoor types too!
Cardiff Sightseeing Helicopter Tour
By far our best-selling experiences in Wales are the helicopter
tours. This is because the scenery in Wales is a must-see from up in the sky. Luckily
for you, we’ve got multiple knocking around, meaning that wherever you are in
the country, there’s definitely one close by!
This Cardiff Helicopter Sightseeing Tour is amazing value
for money. Usually £135, we have an exclusive offer with our partners to bring
the exact same experience to you for just £119. This superb 20-minute tour
allows you to absorb both the breath-taking views of the countryside and
coastline of Cardiff.
You’ll enjoy the best sights South Wales has to offer,
including Lavernock point, a beautiful hamlet in the Vale of Glamorgan; Barry
Island, made famous by the popular TV show Gavin & Stacey; and all the incredible
buildings of Cardiff and Cardiff Bay. Expect to see the Pierhead, Cardiff
Castle and the Exchange Hotel.
This is a low-level scenic tour, meaning you should be able to easily spot a lot of these sights close-up, as well as look out over the incredible scenery from this unique vantage point. We can’t recommend this tour enough! Obviously, we’re a little biased, so we recommend having a read through the customer reviews at the bottom of the page to get a good idea of just how popular this tour has been.
Gorge Walking Experience
Gorge walking anywhere is an exciting activity, perfect for
any adventure-seeker out there - but gorge walking in North Wales will also
allow you to discover some incredibly beautiful sights along the way.
The course you’ll be using is completely natural, and
specially selected by your expert guides depending on your ability. This
adrenaline-filled day is sure to be one that you remember forever.
After meeting your friendly guide, you’ll get into your full
safety kit and begin your journey into the natural landscape of Wales. Expect
to adventure through natural obstacles, scramble down riverbeds and jump into
pools.
We can guarantee you’ll get absolutely soaked, so if you’ve always loved the water, this is definitely the experience for you. This is not just about the thrill; we promise you’ll learn a thing or two too. Move over, Bear Grylls!
Half Day Whitecliff 4x4 Driving Experience
If you enjoy being firmly on land, or more specifically, in a
Land Rover, then this 4X4 driving experience will be right up your street. It’s
the ideal way to explore the Welsh countryside with a partner or close friend.
You’ll be in the comfort of this extraordinary vehicle, with
an expert instructor by your side. You and your companion will take it in turns
to drive through an assortment of different off-road challenges, while your
instructor teaches you all the tricks and skills needed to master the art of
off-road driving. By the end of the day, you’ll both be controlling the
powerful machines with ease.
Treehouse Stay Experience
After the past few months, I’m sure many of you are in need
of a holiday. Well, for many, travelling out of the country is not going to be
an option for a while. These Welsh treetop escapes are the perfect option for a
much-needed break while we wait for the world to return to normality.
Treat yourself to an utterly unique getaway without having
to leave the United Kingdom. If, like me, you always wanted your dad to build
you a treehouse, just like the ones in American cartoons when you were younger,
then you can finally live out your dream.
This simple and cosy cabin is fully equipped with a wood
burning stove, for heat, hot water, and cooking facilities. There is an onsite
shop, a small village 2 miles away and a local country pub a mere 15 minutes’
stroll from your temporary home.
This is a great option for the outdoorsy type, who still
loves a warm and comfortable bed at the end of the day. There’s also plenty of
exciting activities to keep you occupied on your visit, including mountain
biking, local beaches, picturesque walks, and not to mention your own small
library, which you’ll find in the comfort of your own tree house!
The excitement of this getaway is endless, and we can’t recommend this trip enough.
Half Day Airsoft War Game
This experience is something completely different. The airsoft
war experience is all about war role play. If you’re a big Call of Duty player,
then this will be a load of fun. Very similar to paintball or laser tag, this
airsoft game is played out in the open, using realistic guns that resemble both
shot guns and rifles.
Your day will start with an introduction to your marshals
and fellow airsoft players, who will end up being either your teammates or your
rivals! You’ll all get a chance to chat before being split into teams.
Next, you’ll be given your full uniform, including your pre-loaded
airsoft gun of choice. Then the fun really begins… enjoy running around the
enclosed woodland, with the aim of completing the assigned task before the
other team.
Although the bullets hurt much less than paintballs, we recommend you avoid being hit as much as possible if you want to win! At the end of the game, the scores will be added up and the winners announced. Do you think you’ve got what it takes?
Sea Kayaking in Pembrokeshire
Pembrokeshire is known for being
surrounded by a beautiful coastline, which makes this sea kayaking experience
all the more exciting! There’ll be hidden coves, glistening beaches and weather
worn cliffs to explore.
Alongside stunning views of the
Pembrokeshire coastline, expect to spot some costal wildlife such as puffins,
razorbills and maybe even some seals! You’ll also get the chance to glimpse the
local National Trust locations (which are even more beautiful viewed from
offshore).
Your expert instructor will be by
your side, leading the tour at all times. They’ll be sure to point out anything
of interest, so you don’t have to worry about missing a thing. Sea kayaking is
a little more adventurous than your average river kayaking expedition, and depending
on the weather, you will need to find your rhythm with the tide and waves of
the sea.
This is a great experience for anyone looking to do something a totally new in Pembrokeshire, and will definitely bring you closer to nature!
