    Birds of Prey

The art of falconry dates back thousands of years. From Mongolia and the Middle East, the practice spread west to Europe, where it was soon adopted by the nobility. By the fifteenth century, a British guide was published, outlining a hierarchy of birds based on the social rank of the falconer. According to the Book of St Albans, an emperor was permitted to hunt with an eagle or vulture, whereas his servant had to make do with a lowly kestrel.

Happily, today, you needn’t be a nobleman to handle a variety of impressive birds of prey. With any of the vouchers listed here, you or a loved one could meet owls, eagles, hawks and falcons, and benefit from the insight of their experienced handlers. You can get some great photographs and even learn to fly birds from the leather falconer’s glove! Choose from taster, half day and full day experiences, from Fife to the Isle of Wight.

An Experience Days voucher offers an unforgettable natural encounter. At each venue, you’ll find a cast of feathered stars, sure to enchant animals-lovers of all ages. Find your nearest, and give a unique experience gift, today!

Well impressed with the range of birds we handled and saw fly. All kept in obviously excellent condition. Good explanations of how the birds were treated and why.

Thoroughly enjoyable, enjoyed it much more than I had expected. Our host (Shel) was great and looked after us all day. I was surprised that some of the birds I enjoyed the most were the vultures, they are soooo funny!! I really didn't want to leave once it was over. Lunch was amazing, more like a buffet for minimum 4 people!! Highly recommended, worth every penny. Thanks guys for a great day.

The day was excellent with a fine array of beautiful and stunning birds, and the fact that we were in such close quarters to them madecit even more special. We were looked after very well by all the team and the buffet lunch was very nice. The only thing I would say that the 'tuition' side of the photography was a lttle dissapointing, it was one of the main reasons for doing the day to improve my skills. Don't get me wrong I got some stunning shots, but the art of setting my camera up correctly and the more technical side was sadly missing. Overall though a brilliant day, and it didn't rain!!
