AFTERNOON TEA IN LONDON ABOARD BRIGIT'S BAKERY BUS - JUBILEE SPECIAL
Afternoon teas… we really cannot get enough of them! They are delicious and just a lovely British cultural thing to do with your family and friends. However, this time we were not in a tea shop or restaurant, but on a bus in London.
On our way to Victoria Coach Station, we arrived at the meeting point to hop on our bus. As soon as we entered the bus, we could not believe our eyes, the décor was so well done. The food looked delicious, and we couldn’t wait to try it all.
When every customer was sat and ready for departure, the experience began with an introduction of the staff who would be looking after us for our day out with a plan of our itinerary.
As soon as the bus engine began running, the food was ours. We could not stop staring at the assortments displayed. It looked delicious. Here is what was served: a smoked salmon pretzel with cream cheese, cucumber finger sandwich, egg-mayo finger sandwich, a mini pie, and a wholemeal bun - that is just the savoury!
For the sweet stuff, we had the chance to try an assortment of mini cakes and homemade tarts which included: a lemon & orange pudding, a sweet buttery almond tart, a light & fluffy vanilla sponge, an exceptional truffle, and of course the indispensable scone with cream and jam. We also had a drink of choice, between tea, coffee or even prosecco. We can confirm for you that the food was delicious.
In the meantime, we visited famous landmarks within London for the rest of the experience. We were taken around the Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, and plenty more places within the capital. We were very lucky to pass by plenty of monuments in just a couple of hours with a historic description of each place, which was very instructive.
After passing through some of the most famous landmarks, we reached Trafalgar Square whilst eating our dessert which was delicious. Suddenly a big car honked at another car, and I ended up spilling my glass of prosecco everywhere with a scream. Every customer on the bus including the staff all began laughing and were asking if I was okay; I guess I was just taken by surprise.
We then were taken back to Victoria Station to terminate our experience with a coffee cup to take home and a smile on our faces.
Overall, this was an amazing experience, and we definitely recommend it to anyone who wishes to try an iconic British Afternoon Tea whilst enjoying a tour of London. Thanks to Brigit’s Bakery for this unique experience
